Simon Shaw, Senior Manager – Parental engagement and online reporting, Becta
Simon Shaw is head of Becta's work to support schools using ICT to improve parental engagement through online reporting. Previously Simon led the development of the ICT Mark, and has worked closely with local authorities to engage schools in improvement through self-review. As project leader of the ICT Test Bed project he supported change management in schools making innovative and effective use of technology. Simon has an educational background as a science, technology and outdoor activities teacher, a physics subject leader, ICT coordinator and “in house” MIS developer. In the past he has also used his technical expertise in designing and integrating learning and information systems into managed services as a business development manager and technical manager for a leading supplier of services to the public sector.
