Dr Steven Coombs, Head of Department of CPD, Bath Spa University
Dr Steven Coombs is Head of Department for CPD at Bath Spa University and also Chair of the Professional Masters Programme. He has a spcialist interest in learning and knowledge technology and was formerly a professor of educational technology at Sonoma State University as part of the California State University of California. He was also a professor of instructional technology at the National Institute of Education, part of Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University. Steve is interested in the role of technology to support reflective learning as well as critical and creative thinking. Thus, learning conversations, systems thinking and cybernetics formed part of his doctoral thesis in Human Learning obtained from the Centre for Study into Human Learning at Brunel University.
