Terry Piggott, Executive Director, Strategy & Communications, Becta
Terry Piggott (Interim Executive Director, Children's Services and Local Government) joined Becta in October 2009 on a one-year secondment from Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council, where he was the Director of Children's Services. While in that role he led a major re-organisation programme and performance-managed a function through to delivery of 'outstanding' results, according to the most recent Ofsted review.
Previous roles have included English teacher, Deputy Director of Education and Arts, and Director of Education. Terry has also been a Governor of the National College of School Leadership and is a current Vice-Chair of the Association of Directors of Children's Services Virtual Staff College. He has previously been involved with a number of the agencies operating within the education system and led areas of work around the regional broadband consortium.
